I am enjoying the journey of making these shells. They are nothing to do with woodturning but involve cutting, glueing and shaping sections of wood to make these lovely “shell like” shapes. They are very tactile and visually a pleasing “nature shape”. I have used various finishing techniques to make these more attractive. For example: the use of different coloured woods to emphasise the joint, sandblasting and the use of coloured resin to give a look of mother of pearl.
